Louise M. Votava, age 93, long term resident of Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully in her home, in Moorhead, MN, on August 20, 2020 in the arms of her loving family.

Louise Mary Plutowski was born April 12, 1927 in Walshville Township of Walsh County, North Dakota. Her twin sister, and best friend, Beatrice, was born three minutes ahead of her at their home on the farm. She attended school at St. Anthony's Convent School in Warsaw, ND. She took tap dancing lessons from the nuns. Louise felt this would be easier than the piano lessons. She was united in marriage to Emil J. Votava, on October 27, 1953, at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, in Warsaw, ND. They made their home in Grand Forks, ND. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks and the Polish National Alliance.  Emil preceded her ion death on January 22, 2018.

She was a wonderful homemaker and was known for her delicious oatmeal and raisin cookies and hot dish. Louise would brighten the day of everyone with her great gift of gab. She was a historian and kept numerous scrap books of family and area history. She loved to watch the news and wildlife shows. Louise enjoyed shopping for the deals!

She is survived by her sons, Alan (Roberta) Votava, Moorhead, MN and Brian Votava, Twin Cities, MN; grandchildren, Molly, Luke, Sarah, Thomas, Lee, Lauren, and Alexandra (Alli); and 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and her brother, Earl (Lydia) Plutowski and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Robert) Plutowski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; her parents, Leo and Helen (Rogalla) Plutowski; her sister, Beatrice (Halward) Dipple; her brothers, Eugene, Edwin (Evelyn), Robert and James.

Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Wednesday.
Burial: 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Warsaw, ND.
