Lucille J. Adams, 85, of Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Reynolds, ND passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Lucille J. Von Rueden was born on a farm west of Reynolds on April 23, 1936, to William and Mabel (Blaufuss) Von Rueden.  She was united in marriage to John Adams on April 12, 1955.  They made their home west of Reynolds, ND where they raised their five children:  Cindy, Tom, Mary Lou, Roberta and Linda.  She always treasured life on the farm:  planting flowers, raising vegetables and canning, mowing lawn, caring for all the animals and spending time in the country outdoors.  Even when they relocated to Grand Forks, drives back out to the farm to check on crops were routine for her and John.

Lucille treasured her time with family and friends at any type of get together.  She especially loved the laughter and memories made spending time with John's sisters, Pat and Caroline, and brother, Kenny and his wife, Linda.  Throughout her many years in Reynolds, she was actively involved in church functions.  She spent several years working at Daytons, Stevensons and Home of Economy where she formed cherished friendships.  She was an avid seamstress who made sure that no child, grandchild or great grandchild was without a cross-stitched or quilted treasure from her.  She loved to hand embroider dish towels as gifts for friends and family and most recently sewed cancer patients head scarves and masks during COVID months.  Lucille had a competitive spirit and loved playing Farkle and other games with family and friends.  She kept active by visiting Achieve Fitness and always enjoyed the coffee and fellowship of friends there. While we all knew that Johnny was her favorite, her life seemed to be at its best when she was with family and friends.

Lucille will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband of 66 years, John; daughter, Cindy (Dave) Lambrix; son, Tom (Kelli) Adams; daughter, Linda (Steve) Thompson; son-in-law, Neal Klamm; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Lou Osowski and Roberta Klamm; brother, James Von Rueden, and sisters, Eileen Walford, Rose Mary Nelson and Beverly Faleide.

Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Reynolds, ND.
Family Greeting: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service and 7:00 p.m. vigil service in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.  Family Greeting will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Reynolds, ND, with a lunch to follow in the church.
