Lynn E. Mendro , 76, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Minnesota Fairview East Bank Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Lynn Elizabeth (Lukkason) (Rockstad) Mendro grew up the oldest of nine children, with four sisters; Jo Marie, Robin, Becky, and Dawn, and four brothers; Chuck, Bobby, Billy, and Tim. She was the eldest daughter of Madeline "Maym" Mary Ditton Lukkason and Robert Clarence Lukkason. Growing up, Lynn attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in East Grand Forks, St. Michael's in Grand Forks, Central in Fargo, and St. James in Grand Forks where she graduated High School. Summers were spent at the family's beloved cabin on Grace Lake in Minnesota; where many lifelong cherished memories were made!

Lynn married Marvin Rockstad and had two boys, Mikael and Brad "Bubba".  Marv was a bank examiner and controller, so the couple moved a lot; Minneapolis, Valley City, Lidgerwood, and ended up in Williston.  They were supposed to move to Alaska as Marv accepted a Bank position as President, however Marv died suddenly at 36 years old; leaving Lynn with her two boys.  Lynn met Joe Mendro at theatre in Williston and they married, expanding their family by adding in Joe's son, Joe "Rusty" by a previous marriage to the mix.

Lynn was always a performer.  She was in a mixed quartet in high school and was a founding member of Entertainment, Inc in Williston.  She and Joe went back to school to get their degrees in theatre, and went out touring on the road for Sesame Street Live.  Coming off the road they settled in Branson, Missouri, working in the theatre business for 16 years, working with stars such as Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, Vickie Lawrence, Cathy Rigby, and countless others, working as wardrobe manager and seamstress.  Lynn retired from show business but kept on working as a reservationist for Titanic Museum in Branson and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for twelve years before retiring again and moving to Grand Forks to be closer to family.

Besides the theatre and performing world, Lynn most enjoyed being "Ga" to her grandchildren and any other kids that she encountered. She thoroughly loved being around kids and always had a story for them. She was extremely proud of her boys and all their accomplishments! She was a mother to many, grandmother "Ga" to many, and loved by everyone she met. She will be extremely missed by all that encountered Lynnie in their lives!

Memorial Mass: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary Service and 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.  Family Greeting will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Saturday.
