Manuel Ramon Jr, 76, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a short and aggressive battle with lung cancer. Even on his worst days, he remained positive and fought to his very last breath. Manuel would say "Nunca Deja caer la bandera" (Never drop the flag) The people who were there at his passing in fact knew what he was ready for his soul to be called home.

He was a man of pride and dignity. His hardworking demeanor was something admired. Those who had the pleasure to know him knew he was a simple private man. His children and family members gained knowledge from him even all the way up to his passing. He instilled great morals and wisdom that will be carried throughout the years. Manuel was the son of Manuel Ramon Sr and Odilia (Rodriguez) Ramon born on January 13,1947 in Crystal City, Texas. As a child he attended school and grew up in Crystal City, Texas.

As a child, he and his family were migrants and would go back and forth up north (Minnesota/North Dakota) to work in the fields then return home to Crystal City after the harvest. After finishing his education, he moved to ST. Paul for a while before moving to Lansing, Michigan where he began working for Oldsmobile. At that time, he met Francine. Manuel and Francine had two children together, Tina Marie and Manuel Leo.

Later, he met Katrina and both Manuel and Katrina decided to move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin then finally settling in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Manuel and Katrina had two children together Estrella and Jesus. During this time Manuel would work for area farmers. In 1991, Manuel met Stephanie and they had three children together, Roberto, Juan and Rena.

In 2001, he started working for American Crystal Sugar until he retired in 2013. He worked for Novacek farms every year for harvest. When not working he enjoyed his grandchildren and was ALWAYS on the go. In 2014, Manuel and Angelita Robles began their special relationship up until his death.

Manuel is survived by his children: Manuel Leo Ramon, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Estrella Ramon (Sergio Ayala) Grand Forks, North Dakota Jesus Ramon (Michelle Ramon) Racine, Wisconsin, Juan Ramon (Jennie Peterson) Devils Lake, North Dakota and Rena Ramon (Dalton Black), Grand Forks, North Dakota. 10 Grandchildren: Savannah, Quincy, Jordan, Myla, Malerie, Roberto, Selena and Joshua, Elexis 1 Great Grand Daughter: Lyric His Siblings: Petra Lopez (Leopolo Lopez), Holt, Michigan, Sara Campos (Joe Campos) East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Sulema Edwards, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marta Benavidez (Felix Benavidez) Crystal City, Texas, Juan Ramon, Crystal City, Texas, Ricardo Ramon, East Grand Forks, Minnesota and Rina Rivera (Ramiro Rivera) Murphy, Texas. He is also survived by his Girlfriend Angelita Robles, his good friend Katrina Stillman and many nieces and nephews.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Odilia Ramon, his daughter Tina and son Roberto, his sisters Irene Cortez and Gloria Serna

Mass of the Christian Burial: Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 5, 2023 beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Church.
