Marilyn J. Rood , 87, of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2024, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Marilyn Joyce McIntrye was born July 31, 1937, in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Russel and Lillian (Donnelly) McIntyre. She was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from St. James Academy.  Marilyn married the love of her life, James Henry Rood on June 9, 1956, of Grand Forks in St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was employed with the North Dakota State Geological Survey as an Account Technician. After retirement, she loved spending time with her family at the lake.  James preceded her in death on February 13, 2014.

Marilyn is survived by; daughters, Julie (Rick) Bouchard of Lakeville, MN and Renée (Corey) Johnston of Cape Coral, FL; sons, James (Terryl), Randy, Michael (Nadine) and Robert (Tami), all of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas, Brandon, Tyler, Michael Jr., Hannah, Madeline, Halle, Tiffanie, Lindsey and Brittany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; an infant daughter, Kristen; her parents, Russell and Lilian McIntyre; her brothers, Bud and Art and a sister, Kay.

Memorial Liturgy: 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the chapel on Monday.
Interment: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
