Marion J. "Toots" Jackson, 93, of Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Brookdale at the Colony in Fort Myers, with her loving granddaughter, Laura holding her hand.

She was born on January 3, 1932, in Grand Forks, ND to Michael and Frances (Schmidt) Burckhard. She graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1950. She then married the love of her life, Eddy Jackson, on October 16, 1950. They lived in two different homes in Grand Forks as their family grew and then moved to Minot, ND. They moved two more times after that, first to Arden Hills, MN and then on to Kennewick, WA, after all their children left home. After losing Ed, she stayed in Kennewick where she received 10 years of loving and attentive care from her son, Tim. Her final move was to Fort Myers, FL to live near her daughter after dementia started to settle in. She continued to receive loving and special care from her daughter, Diane, while in Fort Myers up until her passing.

After she married, she was a homemaker and was kept very busy taking care of her five children, her husband, and her home. Toots loved her family and spending time with them at the lake each summer was her absolute favorite. She worked outside the home in Kennewick at Shelby's Floral. She also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with Eddy and his siblings, playing golf, tending to her flowers and plants, and spending time with the family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and had some amazing friendships. She will be missed immensely but she remains in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her children, David (Vicki), Gregory (Jeanne), Timothy (Joni), Diane, and Daniel (Donna); grandchildren, Laura, William, David, Martin, Harley, and Kachine; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her father and mother, Michael and Frances Burckhard; siblings, Jake (Margaret), Went (Miriam), Mike, Ed (Marty), Betty (Murphy), and Jim (Marlene).

Memorial Mass: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting and Celebration of Life: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service in Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel. Family Greeting will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Saturday.
Interment: Immediately following the Mass in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
