Marvin Duane Leiberg , age 75 of Manvel, ND passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Marvin was the son of Earl and Clarice (Burtness) Leiberg and was born on December 25, 1948, in Grand Forks, ND. He was raised in Manvel and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School on June 2, 1967. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy for 4 years. He worked in the boiler room of a Navy Destroyer. Marvin was honorably discharged on July 18, 1973.  After returning home, he started his career with Western Potato as a packing operator, which later became JR Simplot. He worked there until his retirement on September 2, 2015.

Marvin married Vicki (Cost) Leiberg of Inkster, ND on March 2, 1973, and together had one son, Jeff. However, their marriage later ended.

Marvin loved serving on the Honor Guard for the American Legion Post 299, in Manvel. He would always proudly volunteer whenever called upon.  His other great love was golfing and enjoyed playing many of the area's golf courses in the summertime. He would be seen out hitting the links with his son and grandson, Erick and his golfing buddy, Darrell Ekberg. He also enjoyed getting together for family events and even traveled to California a couple of times to visit extended family. Marvin especially enjoyed going to the Manvel Senior Center twice a week for meals and visiting with friends. If you dropped by his house, he would be sitting on the couch enjoying a coke and playing games on the computer with Cheddar, his beloved cat nearby. Marvin also enjoyed the Bible Studies with Enduring Word.

Marvin is survived by his son, Jeff Leiberg of Manvel, ND; grandson Erick (Louisa) Leiberg of Bismarck, ND; granddaughter Hannah Leiberg of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Clarice Leiberg, and his sister, Bonnie Vacura.

Memorial Service : 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00 at Trinty Lutheran Church in Manvel, ND. Lunch will be served following the service.
Family Greeting : One hour prior to the service in the church on Wednesday.
Military Honors: Accorded by the American Legion Post 299 and the United States Navy Honor Guard.
Interment : At the Inkster Cemetery following the luncheon.
