Mary Ann Bushaw, 94, of Manvel, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Valley Senior Living, Hearthstone in Grand Forks, ND.

Mary Ann was the youngest child born to John and Agnes (Miller) Passa on March 18, 1927, at home in rural Walsh County, ND. She grew up in Oslo, MN and graduated from Oslo Public School in 1945. After high school she taught 1st through 8th grade in a one-room schoolhouse in Walsh County. She married Art Bushaw, her high school sweetheart and dance partner on August 2, 1948. Together they raised seven children on the Bushaw farmstead near Manvel, ND. She belonged to the Homemakers Club for many years and treasured her time spent with the other women of the Club. She enjoyed traveling, getting together with friends, and of course playing BINGO! She bartended at various locations for 38+ years - she loved bartending and made many, many lifetime friends through her work. She always had a huge garden, and her canned goods would fill the shelves, come fall. She loved the holidays and was well known for trying out something new that she had seen in one of her many magazines. Christmas time meant her buttermilk cookies would be on the platters along with the many other festive treats.

She is survived by her son Patrick (Janell) Bushaw, Manvel, ND; daughters, Marlene (Art) Schuppert and Annette (Loren) Shane, Grand Forks, ND, Shelley Korynta, East Grand Forks, MN and Cynthia (Scott) McDonough, Detroit Lakes, MN., 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Agnes Passa, husband Art, daughter Carolyn McMahon, son Michael Bushaw, grandson Nathan Bushaw, siblings Isabel Barrett and husband Douglas, Gertrude Gerszewski and husband Henry, Eleanor Wosick and husband Richard, brother Edward and three older siblings who died in early childhood.

Mass of Christian Burial :  11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: : Will begin one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Saturday.
Burial: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND
