Mary D. Lyons , 63, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at her home in Belcourt.

Mary Dawn Lyons was born October 16, 1956 in Minot, ND and was adopted, as a baby, by her parents, John and Helen (Schultz) Lyons. She received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Physical Education, K-12 in 1978 at Carroll College in Helena, MT. She moved to the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa area and dedicated her career to teaching Special Education for over 30 years until retiring in May 2019. Her love of exploring took her to places across the United States and Europe, including climbing the Eiffel Tower and hiking in the Swiss Alps.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Brycee Lyons and Laine Lyons both of Grand Forks, ND and Kaitlan Lyons, Fargo, ND and her brother, Duane (Joyce) Lyons, Naches, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
