Mary Ann (Glanner) Ronkowski , 97, passed away peacefully August 14, 2025, at her residence. She was born August 12, 1928, in Minto, ND to John and Blanche (Klava) Glanner.

Mary, affectionately known as "Peanut", was a beloved mother and shining light to all.  Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives she touched. After spending her formative years in the Fordville and Minto area, Mary graduated from Minto High School at the age of 16. Further enhancing her education, Mary attended Mayville State College, achieving her teaching certificate thus enabling her to teach at numerous country schools.

On October 5, 1950, she was joined in marriage to Raymond Ronkowski and began her family of 5. Initially they resided in Minneapolis, MN, and then moved to Minto, ND where she resided for 72 years. During this time, she was employed as a secretary at Farmers Union and Walsh County Social Services as well as ending her career as administrator of both Walsh County Veterans Service and Civil Defense Office, retiring in 1995.

While residing in Minto, Mary was an active community member participating in various organizations: President of the American Legion Auxiliary, scout den mother, member of the Democratic Party, as well as various bridge card clubs. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.  Religion was instrumental in grounding her family as was demonstrated by her devotion to being a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, religious education teacher, and holding numerous offices in the Women's Altar Society.

When asked what one remembers about Mary's accomplishments, she was able to uproot and move to Grand Forks, ND at age 72 and was proud of her five children graduating from the University of North Dakota.

Mary is survived by sons, Keith (Becky) Ronkowski and Kevin Ronkowski, daughters Kathleen (Lonny) Schweitzer, Karen (Kelly) Erickson, and Kristi (Rod) Nupdal. Forever cherished and remembered by her grandchildren: Ryan Ronkowski, Christopher Ronkowski, Callie Ronkowski, Mike (Ashley) Ronkowski, Katie (Jake) Breidenbach, Jon (Michelle) Schweitzer, Sarah Erickson, Scott (Brynn) Erickson, Mary Beth Zabel, Nick (Sarah) Nupdal and Lindsay (Grant) Thorfinnson. In addition, her memory lives on in 16 great grandchildren and a sister, Helen Troyer.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, siblings: Leona Nelson, Eugene Glanner, Margaret Sibell, Clarence Glanner, John Glanner, Rosalie Glanner, Eddie Glanner, Dennis Glanner, infant brother Ernest Glanner, and granddaughter, Ashly Nupdal.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Holy Family-St. Mary's Catholic School, 1001 17th Ave S, Grand Forks, ND 58201.

Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Saturday.
Interment: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Minto, ND.
