Mitch Nelson, age 60 of Grand Forks, ND, died on Friday, October 31, 2025 at his home.

Mitch G. Nelson, a son of Gary and Patricia (Farren) Nelson, was born on February 2, 1965 in Grand Forks, ND. He was reared and educated in Hatton, ND where he excelled in track and wrestling. Mitch graduated from Hatton Highschool in 1983. He then attended Mayville State College, obtaining degrees in Chemistry and Biology in 1987. Mitch began working various jobs in the area. He began working at the Holiday Inn Express as a Maintenance Supervisor. Mitch enjoyed his job and the employees he worked with.

He enjoyed reading, watching tv and debating politics with anyone willing to debate him. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his siblings, Kent (Ursula) Nelson, Sonia Burley, Eric Nelson and a brother-in-law, Jerry Sersland; nieces and nephews, Justin (Kimmie) Burley, Brynlee and Miles Burley, Evan Nelson, and Jacinda (Luke) Wood; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mitch is preceded by death his parents Gary Nelson and Patricia Gelbach; sister, Kristine Sersland grandparents, Ed and Lorraine Farren and Cora Nelson.

Blessed be the memory of our brother Mitch. We love you and miss you tremendously! Rest in Peace.
