Myrna (Chwialkowski) Johnson of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 21 days at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Myrna Lou Chwialkowski was born on August 20, 1948 in Strandquist, MN the daughter of the late Steve O. and Gladys G. (Henrickson) Chwialkowski. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church of Strandquist. She graduated from Strandquist High School in 1966,

Myrna was united in marriage to Darrell E. Johnson on June 27, 1970 in Sisseton, SD. Together, they raised 4 children in Drayton, ND. She was employed as a cook with the Drayton Public School and with Marvin Windows in Grafton, ND.   In 2000, Myrna moved to Grand Forks and was employed as a head cook with the University of North Dakota until her retirement. She was an active member of University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Myrna was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She was always ready for a good cup of coffee with family and friends. She also loved rainbows, butterflies and the color purple.

Myrna is survived by her sons, Darrin (Gaylene) Johnson, Alvarado, MN and Dustin Johnson, Grand Forks, ND; her daughters, Tawnya Johnson, Grand Forks, ND and TamieAnn (Fred Ganssle) Dahl, St. Thomas, ND; grandchildren, Brock (Brandon Johnson) Dahl, Krista (Dee) Dahl, Karlin Dahl, Tiffany Ley, Tyler (Ashli Callaway) Anderson and Kenny Johnson; one great-grandson, Brysen Dahl; brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Chwialkowski and Gary (Suzi) Chwialkowski; her sisters, Joan (Dean) Kaushagen, Shirley (Wayne) Kilen, Carol (Carl) Hugg, Rita (Terry) Sollund and Susan (Darwin) Nelson; a sister-in-law, Florence (Mrs. Allen) Chwialkowski and a brother-in-law, Wayne Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Allen and an infant brother, Michael.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2020 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Monday.
Burial: At a later date in Augustana Lutheran Cemetery, Strandquist, MN.
