Myron Douglas Garceau Sr., 83, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at his home in Grand Forks.

Myron Douglas Garceau was born on November 16, 1939, in Grand Forks, ND the son of Dewey and Rose (Yund) Garceau.  He was raised and educated in Grand Forks.  Myron enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard and served with the 815 Engineering Company and the 231st Medical Company in Grand Forks.  He was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4th Class. For over 42 years, Myron was employed as a Packing Foreman with the North Dakota State Mill and Elevator in Grand Forks.  He retired in 2002.

He is survived by a son, Myron (Peggy) Garceau, Jr., Fargo, ND; daughters, Roxanne Laugsand, St. Michael, ND, and Vicky (Michael) Krawczeski, Mahtomedi, MN; special friend, Bee Kramar, Grand Forks, ND; his brothers, Art (Val) Garceau, Fargo, ND, Kenny Garceau, Thief River Falls, MN, Dennis Garceau, Grand Forks, ND and a sister, Alice Waxvik, Grand Forks, ND; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry Garceau; brothers, Hubert Garceau and Dewey Garceau; sisters, Rose Kiefet and Shirley Garceau.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be given to the Circle of Friends Humane Society, 4375 Washington St. N., Grand Forks, ND 58203.

Memorial Liturgy: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Thursday.
I nterment: Garden of the Evangelist's Columbarium, Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
Military Honors: Accorded at the time of interment, by members of the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817, and the North Dakota Army National Guard.
Following the interment: A luncheon and reception will be held at the American Legion Post 157, 1009 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721.
