It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy L. Fontaine , 72, of East Grand Forks, MN.  Nancy passed away, in her sleep of a rare heart condition, at her home on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

Nancy Lee Geatz was born on December 5, 1951, in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of John and Theona (Kvasager) Geatz.  She was raised in East Grand Forks and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.  Nancy retired from her career at the Grand Forks Education Center.  She enjoyed sewing and collecting coins. Most of all, Nancy enjoyed visiting with family members and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved that part of her life and was the kindest soul.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryleen Kay Wilson; her sons, Jamie Wayne Blilie and Christopher Dale Fontaine; twin sons, Michael John Fontaine and Matthew James Fontaine; her sisters, Marlyn Vervalen, Carol Wandary, Barbara O'Brien and Connie Janke; a brother, Jack Geatz; grandchildren, Zachary Wayne Blilie, Jane Isherwood, Cameron James Dufner, Kia Isherwood, Maleah Lee, Aiden Christopher Fontaine, Sophie Fontaine and Abigail Mae Fontaine and 4 great-grandchildren, Rosemary Todd, Willow Todd, Keisyn Fletcher, and Brooks Engelstad.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Joseph Geatz; her mother, Theona Geatz; her husband, Dale Tomas Fontaine a sister, Debbie Welter and a brother, James Geatz.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2024, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Monday.
Burial: In the spring of 2024, in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
