Patricia Louise Fried-Hill, 67, of Grand Forks was escorted home by the Lord on December 4, 2024.

Pat's Celebration of Life will begin with visitation on Friday, December 13th at 1:30pm at Hope Church, Grand Forks. The Service will follow at 2:30pm. A family burial service will take place at the Saint Philomena Cemetery in Selfridge, ND.

Pat was born on December 28, 1956, in McLaughlin, SD, the daughter of Albert & Helen Fried. She grew up on the family farm with her 8 siblings and many farm animals. Pat's favorite childhood memories were riding and caring for her horse, Shawny, raising baby bunnies, collecting eggs from the chicken coop and watching baby chicks hatch from the incubator.

Pat attended Selfridge Public School and McLaughlin High School. Pat went on to further her education at Minot State College and Concordia College in Moorhead. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education.

In 1979, Pat was united in marriage to Richard Hill.  While residing in Fargo they started their family of two children, Crystal & Bridget. Pat began her education career at the Fargo Public Schools. In 1990, Pat moved to Grand Forks to work at the School for the Blind where she was a teacher for the visually impaired for 27 years. She retired from her career in May 2017.

Pat was a friend to everyone she met! She enjoyed making new friends and developing relationships. She loved going to the YMCA every weekday to meet up with her friends in the exercise group. She fostered many friendships with UND students to help them know the Lord.  She also volunteered at Love In Action, an organization that helps those in need. Pat had a very special gift of kindness and a beautiful giving heart.

During her retirement she traveled on a regular basis to Minnetonka, MN to spend time with her precious granddaughters, Ava & Mya. She visited often and they spent every holiday and special occasion together.  Pat also had a special place in her heart for her nephew Landon. Every week she would stop by to bring him a special treat.

Our beloved Pat is now resting peacefully with our Lord. While our family is deeply saddened by her passing, we are grateful for the faith Pat had knowing she will live on eternally with Jesus.

Pat will live on in the hearts of her family and loved ones. Pat's remaining family include her daughters; Crystal (Ramar) Tan of Minnetonka, MN and their girls Ava and Mya; Bridget of Grand Forks, ND; siblings, Dennis of Selfridge, ND; Mike (Mikki) of Hermosa, SD; Bob (Mavis) of Bismarck, ND; Bernie (Melva) of San Antonio, TX; Carmen (Mark) Walker of Grand Forks, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat is now united in Christ with her mother Helen, father Albert, brothers Bryan and Curtis and sister Kathy. Rest together in peace our dear loved ones.
