Patrick E. Burris, 93, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Pat was born March 17, 1931, the son of George and Annie (Krumpos) Burris in Glasston, North Dakota.  After attending St. James High School, Pat worked as a brakeman for Great Northern Railroad and eventually as a foreman for the Grand Forks Herald.

Pat married Donna Jean Helgeson on June 18, 1949, and together they raised eleven children. Pat (Bev) Burris, David Burris, Diane Burris, Don (Kari) Burris, Ron (Cathy) Burris, Tim Burris (deceased), Tom (Sandy) Burris, Mark (Kelly) Burris, Richard (Corey) Burris, Mitchell Burris, and Dan (Joni) Burris.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed working on hot rods and motorcycles. After retirement, he was content to spend time with family and tinker around the house. At 93 he was still taking care of his yard and riding his John Deere mower.

In addition to his children, Pat is survived by his wife of 75 years, 27 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Tim, infant grandsons, Josh and Zachary, sister, Anne Marie Burris, brothers, Robert Burris, George Burris and Marvin Burris.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Shriner's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Memorial Service: 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Monday.
Interment: At a later date in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
