It is with great sadness that we share our beloved Patrick "Rock" Healey passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 in his home in Grand Forks, ND.

Pat was born in Stevens, Ontario to Margaret (Whalen) and Daniel Healey. Throughout his childhood, he was active in all things athletic, spurring his passion for sports, education and the outdoors. He enjoyed telling stories about his family, joking with his wonderful sister Sally and was deeply proud of his Canadian roots.

Pat came down to "the states" to attend college at the University of North Dakota, where he majored in Arts and Sciences. There he met his wife, the love of his life, Cindy, and many of his lifelong best friends. Pat and Cindy married December 28, 1974 and had two children, Kelly and Danny. He gained his American Citizenship in 1995, and shared the gift of dual citizenship with his children. They raised their family in a home filled with faith, love and laughter, which they passed on to their son-in-law, Chad, and the light of their lives, their granddaughters, Isabelle and Ava.

Throughout his life, Pat held many titles. He was an incredible Husband, Dad, Papa and friend. Many closest to him called him "Rock". He was the ultimate fisherman, umpire and UND tailgater and fan. He loved his friends dearly and the memories they made together. Yet, he may best be known as "Mr. Healey", everyone's favorite teacher and coach. He devoted 38 years to teaching physical education at Kelly Elementary, his home away from home. Teaching was his calling. His students and fellow co-workers meant the world to him.

Pat was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Cindy, his son Daniel, his daughter Kelly (Chad) and his granddaughters Isabelle and Ava.

As we grieve Pat's death, we celebrate his beautiful life lived. Visitation will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND on Monday, August 30 ^th , from 5-7pm. A viewing will be held at the same location, Tuesday, September 1 ^st also at the Church from 9:30-10:30am with funeral services to follow. Burial will be at 3pm that afternoon at Riverside Cemetery in Moorhead, MN. A Facebook page- Pat "Rock" Healey, a Celebration of Life- has been created. For those unable to attend in person, the funeral and burial will be streamed on this page as well as via the Calvary website.
