Rebecca (Evenson) Rubin , 78, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks.

Rebecca Jane Evenson was born on February 18, 1944, in Northwood, ND, the daughter of Francis and Cora (Brenna) Evenson. When she was 12 years old, her family moved to Grand Forks. She attended Valley Junior High School and graduated in 1962 from Grand Forks Central High School. She then attended Josef's School of Hair Design in Fargo, ND. After the completion of her training, she moved back to Grand Forks and soon married Paul Rubin (a 1960 graduate of CHS) on Oct 30, 1965. They had two children, Brenna in 1968 and Joseph in 1969.

Rebecca was vibrant, kind, fun, smart, classy, caring, generous, beautiful and just all-around good. She was adored by her family and friends, and she loved them with all her heart. Rebecca was also very creative and an entrepreneur, and she used those talents to do many different jobs. Rebecca owned and operated an apartment building with her twin brother, did decorative painting, cut hair, and had a flower business with one of her best friends. Since Rebecca could make her own schedule, she was also able to be at home for her kids, and she supported them in all they did.

After her husband retired from the Railroad, they spent their winters in Ft Myers, FL, and enjoyed the company of their son, her sisters and extended family who lived there. They also took trips to Maui to visit their daughter and her family, which they also thoroughly enjoyed...Rebecca loved being a grandma!

Rebecca will be deeply missed, especially by her kids, Brenna (son-in-law, Scott Miles) and Joseph (Jenn Fewless); her grandson, Reagan James Miles, 16; her siblings, Fern (Earl Nedberg), Rose (Dennis Black), and Bob (Evenson), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in June of 2020 and her parents, Francis and Cora.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to North Dakota Alzheimer's Association, Hospice Red River Valley, or Valley Memorial Homes, and mailed to: Norman Funeral Home, 2950 S.
