Richard "Rick" Allard, 74, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Richard Allan Allard was born on January 14, 1947, in Grand Forks, ND the son of Norman and Thora (Lund) Allard.  He was raised in Grand Forks, attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from St. James Catholic High School.  He went on to study Construction at Lake Region College in Devils Lake, ND.  He was employed in construction until he was injured.  Later, he was employed, with his brother Roger, in Attendant Care with the University of North Dakota.  Richard married Margo Boehmer on February 2, 1974, in Grand Forks.  Rick and Margo continued to live in Grand Forks, raising their two children, Jesse and Kimberly.  Rick enjoyed art, poetry, drawing, woodworking and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife, Margo; his son, Jesse Allard and a daughter, Kimberly Allard, both of Grand Forks, ND; a granddaughter, Alyssa Lynch Allard, Sioux Falls, SD; mother-in-law, Deloris Boehmer, Edmore, ND; sister-in-law, Judie (John Lydon) Boehmer, Sacramento, CA; brother-in-law, James Boehmer, Edmore, ND; former daughter-in-law, Tamra Lynch, Grand Forks, ND and his dog, Stevie.

He was preceded in death by parents; his brothers, Roger Allard and Jim Allard and his father-in-law, Leonard Boehmer.

Memorial Liturgy :  6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Wednesday.
