RICHARD WALLACE "WALLY" MACDONALD

Richard "Wally" MacDonald , 90, passed to eternal life at Valley Senior Living on Columbia Rd. on January 19th, 2023.

Wally was born July 21, 1932, to Colin & Edna (Beaton) MacDonald in Langdon, ND.  His first years were spent in Hannah, ND until his family moved to Grand Forks.  Wally graduated from Central High School and was a member of the Army National Guard.  Wally worked for Byer's Funeral Home in Grand Forks.  He attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago.  After graduating, he worked at Hebelwaith Funeral Home in Evanston, Illinois and later at Wright & Salmon Funeral Home in Peoria, Illinois.   After his retirement, he moved back to the Grand Forks area and resided in East Grand Forks, MN.

Wally was a kind and generous man.  He loved to travel and made many trips to Europe.  His last trip was a worldwide cruise.  He was proud of his Scottish heritage.  He was happy when he had a glass of whiskey while listening to his bagpipe music.

Mourning his loss are his nieces & nephew, Vicki Lovell, Bonnie MacDonald, Katie Aunan and Robert MacDonald.  He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, great great nephews, and his extended family at Valley Senior Living.

Greeting him to eternal life were, his brothers, Norman, Bruce & Colin Dale, sisters-in-law, Lila MacDonald & Nancy MacDonald and niece Debbie Quirk.

Memorial service: A private service will be held.

Interment : at Memorial Park North Cemetery Grand Forks, ND in the spring.
