Robert "Bob" Olmstead, 74, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at his home in Grand Forks.

Robert Michael Olmstead was born on October 20, 1946 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Howard and Grace (Sullivan) Olmstead.  He was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from St. James High School in 1965.  The following year, Bob joined the North Dakota Army National Guard and served for 7 years.  Later, he owned and operated the Roving Chef, a catering business on wheels.  He was employed with the Pillsbury Company for 20 years and with Slumberland for 18 years.

He loved going to University of North Dakota football games and hockey games.  In his younger years, he played softball and city league basketball. During his retirement years, Bob enjoyed fishing and Bingo.

He is survived by his brother, Roger Olmstead; a nephew, Casey (Lindsay) Olmstead; a niece, Gina Smith; a great-nephew, Austin Smith; several cousins and his best friend, Reed Carl.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation :  One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Monday.

Burial :  Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.

Military Honors :  Accorded by members of the North Dakota Army National Guard.

It is requested that masks be worn during the visitation and Funeral.
