Rose M. Schumacher , 90, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Valley Senior Living-Woodside Village in Grand Forks.

Rose Marie Dauksavage was born May 3, 1930 on the family farm near West Oslo, ND the daughter of Alex and Rose (Knapkiewicz) Dauksavage. She attended school in Walsh County, North Dakota and was employed as a Dental Assistant. Rose married Donald J. Schumacher on June 2, 1954 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, ND. Rose and Don farmed near Thompson, ND until their retirement in 1987, then moved to Grand Forks. Rose was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks and St. Jude's Catholic Church in Thompson. She enjoyed canning, gardening, crocheting and sewing. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1985 and they dealt with the challenge.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; sons, Greg (Nancy) Schumacher, Thompson, ND and Donovan (Linda) Schumacher, Orlando, FL; daughters, Barbara (Lee) Settingsgard, and Sharon (Dwight) Howe, all of Grand Forks, ND; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Dauksavage, West Oslo, ND and a sister, Leona Czapiewski, Grand Forks, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ernest Dauksavage.
