Shirley A. Garceau, 84, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021, at her home in Grand Forks.

Shirley Ann Garceau was born on September 29, 1936, in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Dewey and Rose (Yund) Garceau, Sr.  She was raised and attended school in Grand Forks.  Shirley was employed for 38 years as a cook at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.  Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping and when younger, riding her bike.

She is survived by her sister, Alice (Mrs. Donald) Waxvik, Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Myron Garceau and Dennis Garceau, both of Grand Forks, ND, Kenny Garceau, Thief River Falls, MN, and Arthur (Val) Garceau, Fargo, ND; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rose Kiefat; an infant sister, Betty Lou; her brothers, Hubert Garceau and Dewey Garceau, Jr. nieces, Rose Waxvik and Rose Marie Lund; nephews, Donald Waxvik and Terry Garceau; a brother-in-law, Donald Waxvik; sisters-in-law, Sandy Garceau and Lorraine Garceau.

Shirley's family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to Hospice of the Red River Valley and All-Embracing Home Care for the compassionate and professional care given to Shirley.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 6:45 p.m. rosary service and 7:00 p.m. vigil service in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
