So Ye Jackowitz , 80, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Sister So Ye Mo (So Ye Jackowitz) was born December 4, 1940 in Hampyung-eup, Jeolla-namdo, Republic of Korea, the daughter of Mo Daesung and Kim Bogsang.

She was raised in Jeolla-namdo surrounded by beautiful west and south seas in Korea, and Jeolla-namdo is the biggest harvest plain province in the Korean Peninsula.

In the fall, the golden waves cover the plain and dances with the harvester's smiles; that is Jeolla-namdo.  Soye's dear father and mother laying and waiting at home.

So-Ye met William R Jackowitz from Scranton PA and married in Ozan Korea in 1971.

Following their marriage, she came to Grand Forks because William was serving at the Grand Forks Air Force Base.  Grand Forks becomes her another home because she had lived here for about 50 years.   So-ye is a North Dakotan and a real Fighting Sioux. Yes, she was a really brave woman.

So-Ye was employed at Grand Forks Air Base until her retirement and she was a proud member of Hope Korean Presbyterian Church of Grand Forks.

She is survived by her older brother, Joon-Gi Mo; other siblings, nephews and nieces in the Republic of Korea.

고 모소예 자매님은 1940년 12월 4일 대한민국 전라남도 함평군 함평읍 내교리 688번지에서, 아버지 오대성 님과 어머니 김복상 님의 여식으로 출생하였습니다.

고인은 아름다운 서해와 남해로 둘러 쌓인 전라남도에서 성장하였는데, 전라남도는 한반도에서 가장 큰 곡창지대입니다.

가을에, 황금빛으로 덮여 추숫군들의 웃음소리와 함께 춤추는 평야, 전라남도는, 사랑하는 아버지와 어머니가 누워 기다리고 있는 소예의 그리운고향입니다.

소예 자매님은 1971년 대한민국 오산에서 팬실베니아 스크랜턴 출신 윌리를 만나 결혼하였습니다.

그 후, 자매님은 남편 윌리암이 그랜폭스 공군부대에서 근무하게 되어,  이곳으로 오게 되었습니다.

어언 오십년, 노스 다코타 그랜드폭스는 자매님의 또 다른 고향이 되었습니다.

소예 자매님은 노스다코타 사람입니다. 진정한 파이팅 수입니다. 그렇습니다. 소예 자매님은 정말 정말 용감한 여성이었습니다.

자매님은 계속 그랜폭스 공군부대에서 근속한 후 은퇴하였습니다.

그리고 그랜폭스 한인소망교회의 자랑스러운 성도중 한 분이었습니다.

모소애 성도님은 대한민국에 오라버니 모준기 외 여려 형제 자매 조카들이 있습니다.
