Stephanie K. O'Neil , 74, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Stephanie Kay Hunt was born on August 20, 1948, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Robert L. and Harriet (Hanson)Hunt. Stephanie was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1966. In her lifetime, she worked diligently in the areas of customer service, retail, credit, and finance.

Stephanie loved sewing and quilting, making special projects for family and friends, with meticulous care and love. Stephanie had a bold personality and a bright, beautiful, infectious smile. She fought many hard battles to live and was brave and resilient throughout her lifetime. Stephanie's quality of life was truly measured by the pure joy she received when spending time with all her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, and nieces throughout the years.

Stephanie married Eugene Ellertson in 1967. Pretty young in life. Later in life, Stephanie met and married Terrance O'Neil.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Terry, Grand Forks, ND; a daughter, Stacy (Tim) Palya, Shakopee, MN; grandchildren, Derrick and Allison Palya; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaia and Nalani Palya; a sister, Susan Grove, Fountain Hills, AZ; nieces, Jamie (Greg) Martinson, Grafton, ND, Lindsay (Peter) Marshall, Scottsdale, AZ, and Lauren McKinley, Fountain Hills, AZ.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, and uncles.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the Historic Norman Funeral Chapel.

Family Greeting: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday.

Interment: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
