Tamara "Tammi" Penn , 45, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at her home in Grand Forks.

Tamara Lynn Penn was born on May 24, 1977, in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Russ and Linda (Wilde) Penn. She moved to Lakewood, CO when she was young and then later moved to Yorba Linda, CA, where she graduated from Esperanza High School in 1995.

A few years after graduating from high school, she moved back to Grand Forks and then moved to Kansas City, MO, for a number of years. She graduated from Everest University with a degree in Applied Business Management and a degree in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding. She later returned to Grand Forks, ND to be closer to family. She resided in Grand Forks until her passing. Tammi's biggest goal when she returned to Grand Forks, was working consistently on her health. Each day she worked on her goal and succeeded in many ways. In 2018, she welcomed her son, Jamari Jacob King.

Tammi enjoyed reading, cross stitching, spending time at the lake with Jamari and her family, crafting, spoiling her two dogs, Miya and Lucy, getting her daily iced coffee and shopping (mainly on Amazon). She always visited with her family whenever she had the chance. Tammi loved making diaper cakes for friends and family. She enjoyed spending time  with Jamari, decorating her home for every holiday. She was known for baking treats and making gift baskets to share with her family, friends, and neighbors.

She is survived by her son, Jamari King; her parents, Russ and Linda Penn; her older sister, Jenni; brother-in-law, Jason (Honcharoff); a niece, Ivy; nephews, Wyatt and Ryder (Mittelsteadt); her younger sister, Crista; brother-in-law, Tim; a nephew, Colton and nieces, Desa, Mila and Iva (Peterka).  As well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Tammi's pride and joy was being a mother to Jamari. She was always taking pictures of every milestone of Jamari's life, even though she would run away from the camera herself. Except when it came to taking pictures with Jamari, she would always turn and have the brightest smile with him.

She will be missed dearly by those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Eleanor Wilde; her grandparents, E.J. and Mary Penn; a great aunt, Lois Wilde and a nephew, Gavin Mittelsteadt.

Memorial Liturgy : 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting : One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Saturday.
Interment: Calvary South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
