Tom Erickson, 56, of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Friday September 18, 2020 with his loving family at his side. This sadly was just over 2 months after his wife's passing following a 5 year battle with breast cancer.

Tom was born April 1, 1964 to Haldor and Mary Jane Erickson in Green Bay, Wisconsin . He met Carla Erickson at a church activity in Fargo, ND and they were married on October 3, 1992 in Sioux Falls, SD. When first married, they lived in Minot, ND and after 1 year they moved to Grand Forks, where they have lived for the last 26 years.

Tom loved people, cars, fishing, and time with his family and friends. He was dedicated to being alongside the love of his life Carla, during her 5 year battle with breast cancer. His kids and other close family friends appreciated how he always said "yes" to taking kids to the skatepark, fishing, and other adventures. As we grieve we laugh at Tom's uncanny sense of humor and the funny situations he shared with us.

As you can imagine the heartache of Tom and Carla's family and friends are huge. Their children inspire all of us in how to find joy, hope, and love regardless of your situation. Words that they frequently share are, "make spending time with others a priority, love God, and help others in need." We can all learn and grow from this priceless advice.

Tom will be greatly missed by his family. Tom loved the outdoors especially Turtle River State Park, duck hunting, ice fishing, and biking. His faith in God was the cornerstone to Tom's heart. He will always be in our hearts and will be missed by all.

He is survived by their children, Eric (16), Joy (13), and Alex (10) and his brother Hal (Julie) Erickson, Texas.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Carla, his parents, Halder and Mary Jane Erickson and his brother Eugene Erickson.

Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 at Hope Church, 1601 17th Avenue South, Grand Forks, ND.

Family Greeting: One hour prior to the service in the church on Friday.
