Timothy P. Mortrud, 66, of Grand Forks, ND, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Timothy Paul Mortrud was born on May 2, 1959, in Grand Forks, ND the son of Norval and Bernadette (Gerszewski) Mortrud.  He was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School, Timothy served in the United States Army as a tank mechanic at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, CO. He returned home to Grand Forks where he managed a local Jiffy Lube.

He was an avid gardener, and loved hunting, going to the lake, and, football.

He is survived by his daughters, Sunnie Young and Jursey LeBlanc; granddaughters, Jackie (Jake) King and Cheyanne Young; siblings, Wayne, Gail, Tom and Cathy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Marlene.
