Trinidad F. Sanchez, 77, of Emerado, ND died at his home on Sunday, April 5, 2020.

Trinidad was born on March 2, 1943 in Winslow, AZ the son of Trinidad and Virginia (Gonzalez) Sanchez. Dad spent much of his youth and early adulthood messing around and getting into trouble throughout the Winslow and Phoenix areas. In 1964, Trinidad joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at various locations around the world.  Trinidad met his future wife, Ana Mercado when he was stationed in Puerto Rico. After 10 months of wining, dining and dancing, during their courtship, they married in June of 1967.

Trinidad spent his military career in food service, as a specialist baker and chow hall supervisor, traveling to various military installations throughout the United States and several overseas tours. In 1977, Trinidad was stationed on the Grand Forks Air Force Base for his final tour of duty. He retired and was honorably discharged in 1984 as a TSGT, after 20 years of military service.

Following his retirement, he and Ana resided in Emerado. Trinidad loved his family, fishing along the Red River, watching television, collecting Star Trek and Cher memorabilia, as well as relaxing at home and enjoying retirement.

Trinidad is survived by his loving wife, Ana; his son, Christopher (Erin) Sanchez, Arthur, ND; a daughter, Lissett (Wayne) Hajicek, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Zak, Brandon, Sophie (Scott), Aidan, Christian and Peyton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louie.

A Private Family Service: Will be held in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
A Public Graveside Service : 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2020 at Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
Military Honors: Accorded at the time of burial by members of the American Legion Post 157, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817 and the Grand Forks Air Force Base Honor Guard.
