Wallace "Wally" E. Osen, 73 of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Wallace Edward Osen was born on July 22, 1952 in Moorhead, MN to Howard and Hazel (Quiram) Osen. On August 31, 1952 he was baptized into the Christian faith, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey with Christ. His faith remained a guiding light throughout his life, shaping the way he loved, served and cared for those around him.

He grew up in Walker, MN. Where he attended public schools and graduated from Walker High school in 1971. He moved to Moorhead, MN and attended Moorhead tech chef school, he graduated in 1973. Wally then moved to Grand Forks and after exploring several career paths he found where he truly belonged serving his community as a fire fighter at the Grand Forks Fire Department for over 35 years until retiring in December 2014.

Wally met the love of his life Elizabeth Bowman, they were married April 9, 1983. They were blessed with two children, Angela and Christopher.

Wally enjoyed helping friends with odd jobs, working security at the Ralph Englstad Arena, while watching his favorite team the "Fighting Sioux" play hockey. He also enjoyed listening to his polka music, driving beet truck in the fall and most of all spending time with his family.

Wally is survived by his mother, Hazel (Mrs. Howard) Osen, Walker, MN; his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Angela (Jesse), East Grand Forks, MN; son, Christopher (Brittney) of Crookston, MN; sister, Judy (Dennis) Allen, Eveleth MN; grandchildren, Graci, Eastyn, Ryker, Kenlea, Kitsyn, Corban, Jackson; Great grandson, Colt; many nieces, nephews and their children.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Osen; mother-in-law, Kathleen Bowman; a nephew, Kevin Allen and many aunts and uncles.

The family would like to give a sincere thank you to the Cancer Center of North Dakota, Ethos Hospice, Encompass rehab, Altru emergency/Inpatient, Sanford Health and the Grand Forks Fire Department.

Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026 in The Historic Norman Funeral Home, 2950 S. Washington St. Grand Forks, ND.
