Wallace (Wally) Dean Suedel

Dearly known as Wallace Dean, Wally Dean, Wally Bug, Daddy's "little stinky butt", and Mama's "sweet baby boy".

Wally was born in Grand Forks, ND to parents Trey Suedel and Chanta Selmanson on June 18, 2024.

Wally, sweet baby boy, fought from the very moment he was born twelve weeks early weighing only two pounds, 10.2 ounces, measuring 15 inches long, and spending 66 days in the NICU. Wally loved his routine. He loved being talked to, read to, and most importantly, being held or snuggled chest to chest with those he was familiar with. Wally passed with his parents by his side after experiencing this earth for 95 precious, yet very short, days.

Wally loved and was loved by many, especially the NICU team at Altru. He loved them so much that he demanded their attention; he would set off all his alarms or monitors so they would all come over to check on him. Sometimes he just wanted their presence, wanted them to get up, to be picked up, or to simply hear them call out, WALL-EEEEE. Sometimes that was enough to calm him down. Wally was very persistent and would let you know what he needed, when he needed it, and on his terms only. Wally was not fond of his mom and dad smooching or gobbling his cheeks and neck but knew he would have grown to love their kisses.

Despite only experiencing this earth for 95 days, he lived a very full 95 days. He went to the lake, sat on his dad's jetski, spent a lot of time with both sets of grandparents, went out to eat, went out to his parents' car shop, met lots of new friends and family, who were enamored by him and experienced so much love. .

Trey and Chanta spent most of their time in the NICU with him, not wanting to miss any time with Wally, to love him, and create a secure attachment and bond. They will forever cherish the time they spent with their first-born child. Wally was loved dearly and will be so very missed.

Wally is survived by his parents Trey and Chanta, maternal Grandparents Dean and Renee (Berg) Selmanson, paternal Grandparents Amy (Suedel) and Kevin Anderson, Uncles Kory Berg and Owen Anderson, Great Uncles and Aunts, Donovan (Susie) Blue and Adam (Stephanie) Suedel (Daniel and AnaLynn), Robert (Arleen) Berg, Randy (Shiela) Berg, Rita (Jeff) Miller, Rebecca (Gregg) Adams, and many, many more extended family members.

Wally is proceeded in death by Marlene (Swecker) Lucke, Dad's maternal Grandma, Pamela (Homer) Blue, Mom's paternal Grandparents, Wallace and Darlyne (Lybeck) Selmanson, Mom's paternal Great Grandparents, Knute and Cora (Knutson) Selmanson, Oscar and Selma (Carlson) Lybeck, Mom's maternal Grandparents Milton and Gladys (LaDouceur) Berg, Mom's maternal Great Grandparents Carl and Bella (Sannes) Berg, and Fred and Louise (Sewart) LaDouceur.

Visitation will be held at Norman Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 5:00-7:00PM with a prayer service at 7:00PM, and the service will be held at University Lutheran Church (ULC), Grand Forks, ND on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM. After the service, we will be laying Wally to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN. Please join us for a meal at ULC immediately following the burial.
