Wayne "Chris" Olson , 59, of Thompson, ND and formerly of West Fargo, ND passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home in Thompson.

Wayne Christopher Olson was born on December 28, 1966, in Fargo, ND the son of Richard and Barbara (Westfall) Olson.  He was raised in West Fargo, ND and graduated from West Fargo High School.  He went on to graduate from Cosmetology School and for several years was employed as a cosmetologist in Fargo.  Chris met Alexzandro "Al" Perez, and they lived in Fargo until moving to Grand Forks, ND.

Chris enjoyed dancing and strawberry shakes.  He loved road trips to Florida, especially Key West.  His nightly trips into Grand Forks with his second mom, Helena and Al, and listening to oldies' music, were always an adventure.  There were countless nights he, Helena and Al would go to movies and enjoy popcorn and pickles.  He loved riding with Al in his Little Red Cascada.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Barbara Olson and a brother, Trevor Olson, both of Fargo, ND; his second mom, Helena Perez, and his close friend and caregiver, Armando Perez, both of Thompson, ND; an aunt, Phyllis (David) Brant, Pelican Rapids, MN and his dog, Moo Moo.

He was preceded in death by Alexzando Perez, his father, Richard, and his grandparents.

Memorial Mass: 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting and Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Wednesday.
Interment: At a later date.
